WCN 2009 Training Courses in Nephrology
In the light of the continuous development of medicine, the European Renal Association ? European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) and the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), partners in the organization of the World Congress of Nephrology 2009 (WCN), are proposing a unique opportunity to junior nephrologists from around the world, offering them a total of 34 scholarships.
The purpose of this project is to provide training for up to 10 days prior to the Congress to be held in Milan (May 22-26, 2009) in basic or applied nephrology in four leading departments in Italy: Istituto Mario Negri, BERGAMO (Prof. Giuseppe Remuzzi); Ospedale A. Manzoni, LECCO (Prof. Francesco Locatelli); Policlinico Croff, MILANO (Prof. Piergiorgio Messa); Ospedale S. Bortolo, VICENZA (Prof. Claudio Ronco).
The WCN will support travel and accommodation expenses for the selected trainees who will be staying in hotels or residences according to the chosen city?s offer and availability during the courses, free registration to the World Congress 2009 and the accommodation in Milan during the Congress.
Priority in the selection will be given to candidates from economically disadvantaged countries, in order to pursue the ERA-EDTA?s and ISN?s mission of addressing disparities in the dissemination of knowledge.
All four courses will start on Monday, May 11 2009 and finish on Thursday May 21 2009. In order to apply for the selection, all candidates must fill in the on-line application form which must include a short curriculum vitae and a description of the main clinical and scientific activities (max 3 pages or 200 kb). Knowledge of English and/or Italian is a prerequisite. Applications should be sent within the deadline of DECEMBER 20, 2008 following the online procedure available on http://www.wcn2009.org/sites/0/IT/training.tpl
The selection of the application forms will be made by an especially appointed scientific commission.
