24th Budapest Nephrology School

Group registration, travel grant

Dear Colleague,

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the 24th Budapest Nephrology School will be held this year from the 26th to the 31st of August. It is one of the most well-known refresher courses in the field of nephrology in Europe. It attracted many young physicians from 68 countries in the last two and a half decades.

The School on Nephrology, Hypertension, Dialysis, Transplantation and Nephropathology is held under the auspices of ISN, ERA-EDTA, IFKF and ISP, with the participation of distinguished international faculty. The 30 faculty members represent 8 European countries, as well as the US and Japan.

The 24th Budapest Nephrology School is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). Last year the 23rd Budapest Nephrology School was designated for a maximum of 27 hours of European external CME credits. For Hungarian participants the course is accredited by OFTEX for 50 credits.

We continue with the successful initiatives such as “Meet the Professors” and the poster discussions, to encourage the lively and fruitful interaction amongst the participants and the members of the faculty. A full day will be devoted to the developments in renal pathology and its effects on clinical practice. This is made possible with the cooperation of the Renal Pathology Society.

Please find the program attached.

The participation fee (€ 900) includes: attendance at the nephrology refresher CME course, a certificate of attendance, coffee breaks and lunches, admittance to the 15th International Wine and Health Symposium, an evening cruise on the Danube, an organ recital at St. Stephen’s Basilica, a sightseeing tour with a visit to the Hungarian Parliament, the farewell reception, and last but not least Hungarian hospitality.

Register 3, pay for 2
If 3 delegates from one institute register at the same time, the Hungarian Kidney Foundation offers a special fee of € 600 per person instead of the regular € 900 fee,
reducing the total registration fee to € 1.800.
Please note that the ERA-EDTA offers € 1.500 in travel grants to nephrologists that are 40 years old or younger, plus one year ERA-EDTA membership (to young persons who have never been members of ERA-EDTA ONLY) which includes free online access to the official journals of the ERA-EDTA (NDT) as well as the right to pay a reduced registration fee to participate in the annual ERA-EDTA Congresses. In order to apply for the grant, please see that attached document. The application deadline is 26 July 2017.
